Dan Schlieper Racing
Completes 2008 Racing Season!
(SULLIVAN, WISCONSIN) Dan Schlieper and his #9 Dirt Late Model team
traveled to the state-of-the-art Dirt Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway
in Concord, North Carolina from October 29-November 1 for a trio of
high-profile World of Outlaws Late Model Series shows to close out
their 2008 season. The tripleheader kicked off on Wednesday with the
$10,000 to win 'Armour Vienna Sausage Showdown' at the 4/10-mile,
Charlotte-area venue. Dan transferred into the 50-lap main event by
finishing second in his B-Main. After rolling off from the inside
of the twelfth row in the topless 'Armour Vienna Sausage Showdown,'
the Sullivan, Wisconsin native worked his way past nine competitors
en route to a fourteenth place effort.
The 'VAULT World Finals' then took center stage at Lowe's from Thursday
through Saturday. After a night of qualifying on Thursday, Dan unfortunately
failed to make the starting grid for Friday's $10,000 to win A-Main
following sixth and fourth place finishes in his heat race and B-Main
respectively. Things got much better for the #9 team in Saturday's
finale at Lowe's, which was held in front of a huge crowd and a live
SPEED Channel audience. Dan ran third in his competitive heat race
and later wound up twenty-first in the final rundown of the $10,000
to win, 50-lap feature event after losing power steering. You can

The Dan Schlieper Racing team entered sixty-two Dirt Late Model events
during the course of their 2008 campaign. Dan reached victory lane
on three different occasions, while amassing nine Top Fives and fifteen
Top Tens. All three wins came on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
trail, as he claimed the top spot at the North Georgia Speedway, the
Cherokee (SC) Speedway, and the Muskingum County (OH) Speedway. The
driver known as the "Wisconsin Wildman" wound up eighth
in the final version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point
standings in '08. You can view all of Dan's finishes for the year
